allocasuarina rigida

hello all, my friend recently gave me this allocasuarina rigida, i really like it, it said that they are disidous, which astounds me, what do you think? cheers simo

Are you sure it didnt say dioecious? That means that each plant has single sex. I.e. male shrub v.s. female shrub. Rather than monoecious which means seperate male and female flowers on the same plant. They are not deciduous.

If you like casurinas, it is also good to know that their associated soil bacteria mean they can fix nitrogen, makes them very important for improving soils and helping other plants to grow. Cas needles are great mulch!
Could also mean that if you are growing cas from seed or cutting it would be a good idea to 'seed' the growing medium with soil from a wild growing Cas of the same species, to make sure the bacteria are introduced to the roots.
