Hi,

Just thought I would show my little elm group that I did at Ted Poyntons beginner class about 3 years ago. Nothing great but thinking of
wiring and plonking it into a grow box for a 2-5 years. Any thoughts or comments appreciated

if you want to grow them on better to pull it apart and grow the trees separately. That way you have more control over them and can keep some small and let others get bigger, For a good group you will need some diversity in the thickness and height of the trees.

Hi Adam,
I agree with what Craig has said and would like to add that if the trees are less evenly spaced and aranged into sub-groups when the group is re-assembled, you will have a much more pleasing result. You seem to have consistency in colour between all the trees of your group, that is also important.

nice start i like how the forest floor looks natural, i agree with Craig and Mojo, very good tips and will make things much better, sub groups is a must, also try and change the level of height in the trees/groups, this will add some depth, the only tree i wouldnt keep in the arrangement is that one on the right with the trunk/branch that is not in tune with the rest of the group going nearly horizontal, i dont think it is adding to it mate, if you want to add that element of havoc then consider putting a raft style on the edge starting from somewhere in the middle a bit like the tree has been eaten out or rotted and has fallen over but has had the energy to reshoot and grow a new
