winter repotting

Hey there everyone, question....does anyone do much repotting during the winter months ? ?

It depends on where you live. I'm sure in Gympie you could get away with repotting we couldn't in the southern states because of your warmer weather. As soon as the rain here stops I am going to repot two junipers but I won't do a hard root prune. A lot depends on after care as well as well as the species.

after a long talk to a influential bonsai artist i will start doing more in late winter james have you heard of the sunshine coast club pm me for details we meet once a month come on down

Hi there Dayne, thanks for the reply, and yes I actually went to a couple of the very first meetings of the Ss'coast Club back when they used to meet at Gerads Bonsai Nursery ( Bonsai New Southland at Wombye), been thinking of calling down there one day to a meeting....will see

Hi James, early winter is not such a good time to repot but later in the winter when the buds on the deciduous trees begin to swell is a very busy potting season. I notice you list liquidamber as a favorite species this is the time they are done.
