English Elm - NBPCA

When I arrived this morning, the first thing that caught my eye was the brilliant change in colour that has occurred in the English Elm since I was last here 3 days ago. We had a change in the weather, and the last couple of mornings have been quite "fresh" with low overnight temperatures and sunny days.
I loved the way the morning sun was shining through the foliage - so I had to get a pic. Under the circumstances, the sun was shining on to the lens, so made it difficult to get a great pic - but I thought I would share it anyway.
Regards,

The photo seemed to work better after wiping the dust off the lens!
Sunshine English Elm - 26 April 2010 - 2.jpg
English elm. This tree, approx. 30 years old, was collected in the wild in 1995. Its beautifully
curved, strong trunk is given additional character by the dark, furrowed bark and the carved wood.
After collection, new branches were grown, well in proportion with the size of the tree, and bending
down to indicate great age. Together with the triangular outline, all the features of this tree mark it
as an outstanding, traditional deciduous bonsai.

Hi Leigh
It is always a buzz to see trees after being away from them for a little. The changes stand out so much better. Thanks for sharing

I was at the collection last Saturday and this fabulous Elm had the colour green with a touch of yellow. Now it appear to be yellow with a touch of green. A great transformation!
Just love this tree.
