AABC Accomodation at Travelodge

I heard today that accomodation at the Bankstown Travel Lodge was full.
This prompted me to call, I mentioned the bonsai convention and was told "sorry it is full"
I made a booking "ON LINE" 5 mins later no problems payment accepted booking confirmed.

This leads me to ask are the special rates no longer available? (Why not just say so?)
Are they afraid that too many bonsai people will be rowdy?

Regards Gerard

Hi Gerard,

This is interesting because the information provided to the organising committee is that the accommodation at the Travelodge had been fully booked. I'll look into and get an updated posted.

It has been confirmed by the Manager of the Travelodge that all rooms are fully booked up. If anyone needs accommodation for the convention there are some other options in and around Bankstown (but I have not stayed at any of these places and don't know what they are like).

- Rydges Bankstown. Located in a nearby suburb of Bass Hill, it is a 4 star hotel.
- Breakfree Bankstown International Hotel & Apartments. Chapel Road Bankstown, very close to the Convention. 3 1/2 stars.
- Gardenia Motor Inn. In Bass Hill, which is near Bankstown.
- Bankstown Motel 10. Located in Greenacre, which is near Bankstown.

You could try the Sydney Olympic Park precinct. The precinct is around a 15 to 20 minute drive from Bankstown, but has other attractions if you're interested. There are a number of nice hotels there:

- Pullman at Sydney Olympic Park. 5 star luxury hotel.
- Novotel Sydney Olympic Park. 4 star.
- Ibis Sydney Olympic Park. 3 star.

Sorry I haven't got links but Google should help with that. To check public transport travel between hotels and the convention go to http://www.131500.com.au
