Do these critters only grow once a year in spring? I dug up a garden plant and after the usual setback it powered on and put out a few new leaves, emphasis on 'few' but they have remained nice and healthy as we all love to see... and nothing else. No new shoots, no extended shoots, no more shooting from old wood [which it does]. But it's healthy so what's its problem?

It has started growing strongly in January so now I know... it grows best in spring and mid summer. Here's a pic but it has had no training aside from the majority of ground grown branches removed at dig up. I'm waiting till a bit more develops before I start sorting it out. But you can't knock the movement.

It's flowered... one shocking pink fringey flower. Beautiful. And since I did the original post a flock of new leaves have started to come on. Good stuff.
