Hi all

I am starting to get a small collection of natives Melaleuca and banksia mainly. Is there a mix that would suit natives as I want to do the best for the trees. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good mix.

Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I use 2-7mm diatomite ( available from australian orchids and ferns in Silvan ) sieved to remove the dust and aged pine bark of about the same size.
Roughly 60 40 in favor of the bark. I use this mix across the board.

I use 2/3 Diatomite and 1/3 Zeolite on all myy trees
tried Akadama , but reckon that Diatomite/Zeolite is better at retaining moisture
