That's pretty hard to understand.......plus the map has no details at all.....we might make a better one with major cities mark on it......

Your right vincigu, its not the best map and lacks detail. If you have the time and skills to produce something better, I and the Aussie bonsai community will be indebted to you.

I live in Brisbane and I can't work out if I am a 3 or 4. A better map would be really good!

Australia is made up of tropical in the north to Alpine in the south Dessert in the middle. Take a walk round your suburb look at what is growing there. Relate that to your trees. I have friends that live in the Northern Suburbs of Perth 2kms ( approx ) 1mile apart one is further inland than the other. Winter the guy inland gets frosts the guy nearer to the ocean does not. In the southern suburbs where I live I get frost in winter some times lows about 3% 4% celsius. In summer I get very strong Easterly winds that are very hot 38%% is about the norm after Xmas though to March. What zone map is going to help me ?. Your trees are your best guide watch them for there reaction to condition and apply what is needed shade water humidity so on. I hope this simplistic approach is not too confronting. Pup

For me this tells me I have 47 days over 30 DegC which puts me in AHS Zone 5.

Check it out for your local Weather Station
ps this is also very useful for working out hown much roof space and tank volume you need to collect enough rain water so we can water our plants in drought
