Hi everyone
Well I have posted a pic of one of my Elms not really sure what to do with it. I was going to just let it grow out to thicken the foliage and keep it as a broom style. I think the trunk is a little too long so I have thought about chopping it as well.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

I would think about air layering the top off Archie. Then you can chop the bottom back and grow that out as well.
The top looks like it will become a nice little tree.
Wait till it goes dormant losing it's leaves to plan exactly where to air layer. Take another pic then and we can help with the choice.
I thought layering was done in spring but recent advice has been early summer. Plenty of time to work out the exact date and technique to do this though.

Thanks for the input, I guess I have alot of time to research air layering as it is a tecnique I have never used before. SO much to learn. Gotta luv bonsai

Yep late November early december and take it of about 6 weeks later works for me here. You can also start in middle of spring and take of early summer both have worked for me. prune the top before hand though.
