My new house has a tortured willow out the front and my mum told me that they would grow roots from cuttings in water within a fortnight. So i tried a few really big ones and they have now got roots going all over the place. Just wondering if anyone's used them.
thanx

Hi Mason, nice to see you back with us. Yes i have a few contorted Willows but they are extremely hard to style. I will post one for you so you can see what needs to be done. They need lots of food and water.

Great to have you back on track mate. I took a few cuttings a couple of years ago and if the weather clears a bit I will take a couple of photos tomorrow and post them.
From the little experience I have they probably do not fit into the traditional bonsai styles, but they can become very nice trees in their own right.
Stand by for some photos, hopefully tomorrow.

I am a bit late with the photos Mason, but better late than never!
This one is a cutting taken about 2 years ago, put in a bucket of water and let root. A little while later it was potted up. I have three of these and all have a similar story, all have had just a little bit of work done, nothing serious as yet. One of them may have a future, let me know what you think.

Hi t7. Anywhere near a waterway. I am not sure of the Brissy area but no need to look for little ones. Just cut of a branch you like and place it in water. it will grow roots in spring. Be careful though . they are a very demanding tree
