Here is a little tree I have been playing with for a few years.

Here it is in spring 09.



and here it is today before wiring. I defoliated about two weeks ago.



and after wiring.



and this is from above showing how I keep my mame and shohin tree moist during our hot dry summers. I only water these when the other trees get water.

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately no I dont know what species it is. It is a white flower. I will see if I have a photo of it from spring. It was brought as a starter from collectors corner. Tagged as prunus mume. But I'm not sure it is.

Prunus mume refers to flowering apricot which is a classic Japanese bonsai subject. Really good bonsai material

Sorry Craig, bit of a mis communication. I am aware that prunus mume is flowering apircot. Though I am not sure this is one. I believe this is a cherry. I'll show you next time it flowers. Cheers.

I have just done a bit of looking at prunus mume images. And it could be a prunus mume. It's flower is similar to the one on the right of this image but white.

As you probably know prunus mume come in lots of colours I hope it is one for you sake.

After looking at more pics I think it might be prunus mume, though I am happy with how this tree is coming along, so I won't lose sleep over it.

This was the only tree that didn't get the attention it need while i was gone why couldn't it be one of the crap stock trees

Should count my blessing that this was the only one.... The rest are powering on!

That is a huge disappointment Jarrod. That is a feeling a lot of us have experienced with unfortunately more to come. Yes it always seems to be thee one.

I am sure you will one day find another so keep smiling.
