A good friend of mine recently propagated 6 aussie boab's and gave me a seedling, it was 50 mm tall with the seed pod still on top.. its now 200mm.. still very young and fragile! Container growing advice is scares, from what i can gather they grow in very hot, harsh conditions with sandy, poor soil.. treatment sounds similar to that of the 'desert rose', 'cacti' and 'succulents', i will be using a similar potting mix when i repot in a bit over a year.....
The anticipation is much!!!!:!: These trees are AMAZING!!!! The genus is estimated at 60 million years old!! Gondwanaland times!!!

Anyway i found the article about the one pictured above and thought id share... What an epic repot!!! :o Hope it survives!

Fantastic.... marvelous that it can survive with so few roots left but I guess figs and olives do so why not this. And they would not have gone to all that trouble if it was in doubt. Going to be a STUNNING exhibit.

Hope Skippy sees this... he dug up a magnolia several years ago that would have all but filled a one ton flatbed... This one out does his effort... but then, there are more movers and diggers involved here.
