This is not a permanent garden it was created for the Kings Park Festival in 2007 using 100% West Australian species. It was created by Eiji Morazumi. A member of one of our clubs and a good friend. So let us begin the walk for Soltan. The Baobabs are here not the big one.

Thanks for the great post Pup.

Well, there is a great opportunity for someone to get their hands on some excellent rock, fencing, lanterns etc when they dismantle the garden.
I really love the idea of an Aussie native Japanese garden. I have replaced some of the Azaleas in my garden with Callistemon and am contemplating putting in more natives.

Cheers,
Steven

G, day Steven, I have been told by Eiji that it was to be stored at the Zoo so that when it is refurbished it will be used there!!. I hope that they do that. Eiji has already installed a Garden there with a water harp. It is unfortunately in a part of the Zoo that is not open to the general public but in there function area.

Interesting Post Pup - That would have cost a motza to set up for a temporary display, Eiji must be a very passionate person (and wealthy)

He was paid for it. He is a leading Japanese garden designer. Although he was paid he still donated a lot more in concept and back up.

Yes down the bottom near the old Brewery which is now an Office and entertainment area.
We had a big protest by the Aboriginal community when they were doing it as they said it was sacred ground. Where the Waggle started his journey and rested there. Where it was the start of the steps up is supposed to be its main Lair. They still built it. There have been some over head walk ways in the park too. Glad you enjoyed it. :D :) Pup
Ps I got the message about the suprize. you are welcome

I remember those protests. I thought they wanted the brewery I had no idea it spread over the road to the park
