Hi All,

I've had this for a years and tbh ive never really liked the style i mostly got it cause i liked the base.

Before i trunk chop it can anyone see any issues with going down to this section?
In the circle there is a small branch ready to become the new apex , this way it makes it shorter and stout
it will head in this direction

It's an olive so it won't matter if or where you chop it. Olives always grow back.

I can see why you are not taken with the tree. Those horizontal branches and pompom foliage pads don't strike me as olive either.

Really old olives often have dead wood so consider jin and shari before you decide where to chop. I would probably chop a bit higher and carve the stub as a jin and probably extend shari down the trunk.

The lowest branch - right side could also be a possible new leader as it appears to be heading in the right direction.
There's some interesting bends and curves in the top section. Might be worth trying to root that as a cutting after the chop?
