It’s on again with some great presenters, some from interstate. You will be able to do workshops with Tony Bebb and Sean Hood or follow the demonstrations or catch up with old bonsai friends. We have a website now so go and find out all the details of BBTH 2025 and registrations made easy at

I'm one of the interstate demonstrators.
One session showing the Shibui ROR method. The other demo will be field growing - my methods and some of the pitfalls I've found over the years.
We'll also have Shibui Bonsai stock for sale that weekend.
Looking forward to catching up with NSW bonsai friends.
If anyone up there wants to purchase Shibui Bonsai stock without the delivery cost, please let me know what to bring.

It looks like there is going to be a good roll up this coming weekend at the Shore boatshed with people coming from as far away as Newcastle, port Macquarie and Canberra. There is still slots for workshops on the Sunday. Lynette Smith, Grant Bowie, Janet Selby and Denise Edgerton will be selling pots and Megumi her fig book. There will be NO silent auction but Shibui will be selling trident maples and other plants inter alia.

I'll be loading up the ute with trees and bonsai stands for sale and plenty of stuff to illustrate my 2 demos -
- Developing Root over Rock bonsai on Saturday afternoon
and
- Shibui methods for field growing/ fast growing trunks for better bonsai on Sunday.
Look forward to catching up with everyone over the weekend.

Great to hear you are happy with the tree. That's 5 or 6 years of growth as well as a modicum of experience you've purchased.
Sorry to have missed you when you were there today. Hope we can catch up another time.

I’ll continue to develop it and hopefully do it justice.
I had my wife and 2 kids with me, they were pushing me out the door so I couldn’t stick around.
I have told the miss’s I want to road trip to your nursery.
Hopefully will meet sometime in the next 12 months.
Looks like about 6 hrs from Sydney. Maybe I can ditch the kids at the grandparents.

Hi Gary
I agree with your sentiment, thanks to the Shore School in supporting this great event.
However, special thanks go to you, the conduit for so many, many years, in making this happen.
I know you are humble ….but good on you Gary.
I appreciate MikeK’s photos.
Who can’t like or appreciate Tony Bebb… what an awesome bonsai talent and fantastic person.
MikeK’s last photos had me reflecting on my 25 year bonsai journey.
Many people have come and gone, made large or small impacts….
However, from my perspective few compare to the support of the special person in MikeK’s last photos.
I neither live near Ray Nesci, nor am I particularly close to him.
In fact, I haven’t had an opportunity to see him for nearly 3 years!!
However, when I reflect on bonsai, I think of the positive impact Ray Nesci has had on my love of this hobby.
I am sure we all have such a person to thank for enabling our love of bonsai.
Thanks again for your post MikeK; Gary for making the BBTH event possible and…..
Ray Nesci…. well thanks for having the vision, passion and love for this beautiful artform we love either directly or indirectly because of your efforts.
Regards
Steve

I remember first going to Rays nursery as a 10 year old kid.
Now I’m 44 and was there today.
Always love returning to that place.
