Hi everyone, been a while since I've posted anything. I had the privilege to collect this maple today. Neighbour was getting rid of all the trees in his back garden. I know it's a bit early here in the UK but neighbour wanted it gone. It's in the greenhouse so hopefully it'll be fine. If it survives what suggestions are there for a direction.

Hi Peter
The third photo shows a pretty good front I think. If it were mine I'd put it in a decent sized pot to allow the trunk continuations to thicken before cutback.
Cheers

Pop it in a grow pot, let it get healthy and shoot dormant buds and slowly work on easing the taper especially on the thick lower trunk (right hand side in 3rd photo) as I think that’s going to be your biggest issue going forward is making a nice transition in that thick secondary trunk
