Eucryphia milliganii, Dwarf Leatherwood, is interesting. Worth a go while I was ordering other Tassie seed.

I might be making a late start but my climate dictates when to try to germinate seed. We've had low temps in the last couple of weeks but the season is warming so these Tassie alpine species stand a chance.

No action from the "Control" seeds so far but I'll give them a while yet. I "plant" a set of Control seeds on tissue on the walls of a jar with water in the bottom to allow water to wick up. I can monitor the germination (or not) without disturbing the main batches of seed. I know I'm inpatient so take this precaution.
Just went out to check the pots - nothing happening there either. Very disappointing. I'll give them a while yet but not promising.
"The Universe" might be telling me that I don't have the time to grow a bonsai from seed at my age. I need the "spectacular failures" (lots of those) or,

, spectacular successes of collected material or "grown from large cutting" material, at my age.

Very disappointed, no germination from the seeds from Tas (won't be buying there again).
Plenty of seeds were supplied so I tried a few different germination methods with no success from any of them. Could be "The Universe" telling me not to start such a potentially long-term project at this stage.....let's face it, I don't even buy green bananas these days.
