[SYANBS] R3 - Melaleuca cuticularis

I got to the point of propagating seeds for this contest today, and in the process found a few mel species left over from previous years, so thought I would also sow them and see what comes of it, just to fill the tray!
Mandatory pic of the seed ... I got them from a very generous person who thought to offer them up when I started the other mel thread... I couldn't say no! ;)

I used the bog method to sow these (and the other seeds). I won't go into detail as I think I gave a pretty decent description of how I prep the pots etc in this post :

The only difference is I didn't use cactus mix (because I didn't have it) and instead used some sifted fines from my standard bonsai mix combined with perlite, at a ratio of about 2:1

These are out unfortunately. Fried in summer.
The seed was not very productive however in any case, I think I only got about 10 or so to sprout. The first batch I sowed (same seed bag) had a much better strike rate. It was about 5 years ago, so I am thinking the seed lost fertility over that time.
Just something to remember for next time perhaps!
