Collected seed pods in April - there are a few of these trees in the grounds of the Heide Museum. Worth a visit for the Saturday market even if you’re not hunting for trees.

I think this will be a littoralis. I would really like a torulosa - these had rose foliage and I got excited, but I don’t think that torulosa go black like this.

Seed pods left in a paper bag in the garage for a few weeks and opened by May. Left the seeds in the paper bag until sowing this weekend. Using a coir-perlite mix (2:1 ish for these), vermiculite topping.

I actually like Littoralis over Torulosa but that is a personal thing… either are worth pursuing as bonsai I think so good luck and have fun whatever the tree! I have an entry or two coming I think, great competition/incentive to grow for everyone.

These sprouted quickly. Must be close to 100% germination rate. The others are yet to budge, probably unsurprising for the time of year.

Very exciting ... though looks like they'll get crowded quickly? When will you transfer to bigger pots, ground, bath tub?

Not quite yet - I think I have time. Maybe in a couple of months. I'll hopefully have enough for a group planting and to trial some new things. Time to plan!

Finally had some time last weekend to attend to these.

I have more than enough to experiment a little. Last year I stem cut some Eucalyptus seedlings, which worked quite well, so I’ve tried the same here.

I have no shortage of left overs - could try a forest planting? Or even try a fusion project?

These continue to rip along. The stem-cut seedlings have done just as well as the others.
