Melaleuca linarifolia 'claret tops' 1

These guys are really hardy. They tolerate wet conditions and myrtle rust. They're basically the commandos of the Melaleuca world.
They have very small foliage, and you can reduce a massive amount of the root system.

For better recovery after a root prune, I highly recommend leaving most of the foliage on the tree.
But with regular annual root prunes, I wouldn't reduce the foliage at all.

This tree was purchased from Glendale Native Nursery in Newcastle for $16 as a 4inch tub.

Not much to report on this one other than just a progress photo.
It was cut back heavily about a month ago.
Beautiful species, but keep it in full sun if you have Myrtle Rust.
This species is perfect for shohin. With its leaf size, it looks really natural with shohin.
