hey people,

today i restyled my juniper that was in my avatar, i tried to airlayer the top off, that was unsuccessful due to keeping it to moist, the bark was nearly rotting off.
so the top was removed yesterday and i have thinned the tree out and rewired it all. this will allow light in and create a more defined image.
as it looks now it is still rough around the edges as some of the foliage was just to small or not hardened of to wire.

so here it is a before and after :D

i have had some problems with the pot aswell, similar to Melaquins troubles where a residue becomes apparant on the outside of the pot after watering for a while.

well, let me know what ya think :D

jamie :D

edit- it still needs a fair bit more refinement, and tweaking but its on its way :D

looks good jamie :!:

i have a suggestion though, it's to do with the branches...

the trunk has great movement, maybe you could try and mimic this movement in the branches :?: to me they look too straight and maybe too far away from the trunk for the girth it has...

i like it a bit shorter though :D

cheers for the idea azz.

the branches actually have compression bends in them to try and bring them in closer to the trunk, i do have to refine it and tweak it like i said, what i did do today was fine wiring, well what i could do of it anyways, trying to get the branchlets and such into place instead of just crops of foliage.

the movement in branches your talking about, is that up and down i take it??

i did have a bit of a plan for this one once it got brought down but i think that migh be changing soon, i think i see something in it that could work, will wait and see what some of the others say before i post a couple of virts of what i am thinking :D

cheers ken,

if i could bend the trunk i would, it is at least 30mm thick at the base, now i know there are techniques and tools ya can use to put movement in but i am a bit unsure with what ya mean that it needs vertical movement in the trunk??? i think it has it?

Nah sorry mate
I meant the branches not the trunk :-)
I really should reread all my posts to make sure they make sense:-)
