A a couple of years in recess my local show re-emerged.
Unfortunately Alpine Art (Ian) has had to move on from bonsai and nobody has stepped up to fill his shoes so the bonsai section was a one person display this time.

Hi Shibui , bloody 1 horse race alright .I'm still here battling with the health but having the occasional win .
I was hoping a few AW club members might have thrown out a challenge to you .
I still have a few hundred items here , not looked after like they should be but more like nursery stock and their still alive .
Congrats all all those prizes
Cheers . Ian

Great to hear you are still alive too Ian. It is so long since we heard from you.
@Bougie Fan messaged me a few weeks ago asking how to get in touch. You might like to PM him or I can pass on contact details.
I think the weather may have put off some of the others this time. Club meeting on Tuesday is a workshop so an opportunity to get some entries ready for Albury show next weekend. Hoping local members will get trees entered there.
So I guess you won best bonsai in show?
Unfortunately no 'best in show' for the bonsai section but I'm planning to suggest that to the committee for next year

along with a novice section to encourage newer growers to get involved.

Hi Neil , Tony did get in touch and paid a visit .
The shoulders are shot and cant be fixed with a guarantee they will work so "put up and shut up" was the outcome .
Just been cleared last week of a prostate cancer diagnosis which has been a battle for over 9 months trying to get all the medicals done and stay focused and on track .
Covid has put a drain on the health system and the backlog for even urgent cases up here is still growing , blessed to be cleared at this point thats for sure .
I haven't done much at all with Bonsai but have sold over 50% of my material over the last 18 months thats about 500 trees I cant kill .
Better crack the whip on the club members to support the shows and promote the art and the club .
All the best with it .
Cheers .Ian
