Ballarat Bonsai Society 40th anniversary dinner and exhibition

2022 marks the 40th anniversary of the incorporation of the Ballarat Bonsai Society.
To mark this occasion, we have booked Craig’s Royal Hotel for an anniversary dinner on Saturday 22 October. We are delighted that Leigh Taafe, curator of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia has agreed to address the dinner.
The following week - Saturday 29 - Sunday 30 October - we hold our 40th anniversary exhibition in the Robert Clark Horticultural Centre within the Ballarat Botanical Gardens. It would be great to see some members of other bonsai clubs in Ballarat that weekend.

Just over 30 members and friends of the Ballarat Bonsai Society gathered at Craigs Royal Hotel in central Ballarat on Saturday 22 October to mark the 40th anniversary of the incorporation of the Society. Leigh Taafe, curator of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia gave an interesting talk on the NBPCA, and answered questions from the floor about the Collection and bonsai in general. Excellent night.

Will there be a sales area as well at this exhibition?
If the weather is nice, I might take a road trip over.

Yes there will be a sales area. But at this stage I do not know how many trees will be on offer.

I've decided to drive down for this - nice road trip for the long weekend and a good chance to see some trees.
For any locals of Ballarat or surrounding areas - could you please advise if there is significant flooding or any roads in particular to avoid?
