Hi all, the CBS show is over for this year. We had some Tokonama this year and this was mine.

I thought I would go untraditional Japanese and rather go Australiana.
The black cockatoo is eying the Banksia . It’s seed are one of its favourite food. The Kusamono is a slab of pine bark with some cones of Integrifolia on it,
The slab under the Banksia is River red gum.

Hi Grant,
Great composition. Did you do the drawing or is it a print?

It’s a poster I purchased at the Arboretum shop near the NBPCA. We were going to do this last year but the show was cancelled. I collected the pine bark slab at a club dig a few months ago and the cones about 3 weeks ago.

Well done on doing an Aussie themed tokanana Grant.
For everyone else, This Banksia tokanama received the Judge's award at the show.

Love the angle you've photographed it at. Looks like the cockatoo is on the tree. Although its much bigger than any black cockatoo I've seen.

I like how the cockatoo in the background is destroying a branch; and yes it is big. Angle was intentional to give that impression.
