Formal Upright Shimakpu Juniper

This is a shimapku I picked up maybe 6 years ago.
Thought I’d start a thread for it as I’ll probably start some work on it soon.
It had quite a long leader that was relatively straight so I thought I’d wore it up to be a formal upright. I did this when I was very new to bonsai but it seems to have paid off as it has fattened up quite a bit over the years.
With little work and wiring I have managed to get a very formal straight trunk.

Finally some sunny weather to get a good photo of where the tree is at now
Not sure when I’ll start working on this or wether I’ll keep it growing for a bit

Repot time for this one. Been a few years in the squat pot. Clearly needed it and I could tell it did as growth had really slowed up last season.

Hopefully it should pick up and grow hard again, hoping to get the trunk nice and thick on this one. Committed to growing it for a while.
