A random Euc

This Euc is being strangled by the hard surfaces that extend around 5,000metres in every direction... But the dead ends on the branches that go black contrasting to the white trunks are really interesting. Dead wood is a major part of Eucalyptus growing patterns.

Also, gum trees grow in rows and columns in Canberra. Like posts. Sigh.

…. regarding the deadwood, that one looks like it may have suffered a long dry spell

Rory, there are plenty of Eucs around here that survived the drought with no great problems - this one has NO access to open ground or rainfall at all. It's mainly just a design thought. The story it tells is of hardship survived.
