Yes its ON!
After careful consideration the annual bonsai exhibition by the Goulburn Bonsai Society is on 3rd and 4th of October 2020. I know its a late announcement but with the Covert-19 happenings making sure the event is safe has been paramount, but the executive is confident all the boxes have been ticked so its now onward and upward. Hooray, the first bonsai related event I will be able to go to since March and I have been having severe withdrawals.
The location this year is:
The Marian
31 Clinton Street
Goulburn 2580
It is next to the Quest apartments complex. For all those folks who have been having withdrawals like me this is your chance to enjoy a day or a weekend in beautiful Goulburn.
A bit more info in a day or so but block out your diary for this event.

Looking forward to seeing you both there.
This is a new location but only a one minute walk to great coffee and half a dozen good eateries.

Its a shame Mark that there will be no "southerners" here this year but I hold out hope that things will improve, especially for next year. We are so lucky that there are no issues around this area.

BREAKING NEWS - of the good variety.
There will be a selection of Pat Kennedy pots available on the sales table. These second hand pots (they are all in A1 condition and cleaned) are keenly sought after by discerning bonsai enthusiasts and are rarely available now. Pat is arguably the premier bonsai potter in Australia recently winning the NBPCA Pot Acquisition prize as well as many other awards and does not sell at exhibitions any more so this opportunity will probably not be matched in the future.
I haven't seen the pots yet but I understand there is a selection of pots in all sizes BUT if you are looking for that perfect pot for your shohin bonsai this is the place to be as there will be a number of pots to suit this need so I have been told.
I hope to get a couple of photos of a couple of the pots before the exhibition (just as a teaser) and because I'm a "pot nut" I may even buy one myself? I'll post some more news as it comes to hand.
This exhibition is one of those events where its be there or be square!!!!!

Yes Watto is right - Goulburn's annual exhibition is on! I have put out the local flyers about town and the radio advertising is on next week. Lots to do to produce a good event. Sadly Bonsai Sensations can't attend this year for obvious reasons so a "normal" sales table and great pots from Viv will be available. See you all there on the 3rd and 4th of October.

Am definitely looking forward to this year's show Watto! It will be so good to have a "live viewing" of trees again after so long. Photos are really great but the real thing is always so much better, (until they develope 3D computer viewing!) We are certainly lucky here to still have the freedom to hold an exhibition. It should be an excellent venue, even with the Covid safety measures that will need to be followed. Sounds like you've done a really good job getting hold of some Pat Kennedy pots, nobody makes pots quite like his. Cant wait to see them, and hopefully obtain one or two or.... who me have a pot fettish??
The weather has certainly been great during the day, so with a little luck we will have a great weekend and hopefully a little catch up with other "tree people", as there is a great safe distance seating/standing area at the rear of the exhibition space.

A great bonsai weekend is in-store for all enthusiasts at Goulburn exhibition on the 3rd and 4th of October. I believe Watto may have said "you can't have to many pots". So the availability of some Pat Kennedy pots and Vivianne's local pots is a great addition to our little tree exhibition. A good variety of trees will make a great day for everyone. The purchase of a lovely pot for your own trees will allow money exchange to occur with ease.
We are all getting excited about entertaining all the bonsai visitors arriving over the weekend.
The show locale 50 metres from the corner bistro and pub will allow replenishments prior to your trip home !
See you at the exhibition

I certainly am upset to miss the first show of this year. But at least it is up my end of town and I can pop up during my lunch break. Of course another good thing GOULBURN IS VIRUS FREE.

You better get there as early as you can so you may get a look at those Pat Kennedy pots for sale Mary.
I'm still trying to get a photo of one or two that will be available so hopefully that will happen soon?
