The things you do in lockdown in Melbourne. Perhaps a bit silly but I dug this the other day from the front yard. Took a couple of hours and gave the hammys a good workout.

I was going to get rid of it anyway. I had cut the trunk a couple of years ago after some die back and have been rubbing off new shoots as they have grown. It doesn't want to die so...

It is on the left in the washing machine drum. The other is an English holly I potted this month also. Don't give the Angophora much chance especially since I sawed off the bottom half to get rid of some root mass. No fine roots obvious bit it has some shoots. What the heck.

I wouldn't think it has much chance, but to give it the best chance possible water it at least 3 times a day and :fc:

If that survives, (and I don't mean latent energy buds), I'll eat a snake

I never had much luck with Angophora costata due to gall wasps

The red & purple ones are my favorite - very juicy. I don't go much for the yellow or green ones but maybe these are to Rory's taste?...

Good luck with the giant stump Stu! At least you got some exercise with that dig.

After all shoots dying off and I had given up on it only watering occasionally, this popped shoots at the side.

A bit early perhaps to get too carried away (one of my character flaws) but Rory may have to start picking out a snake to eat.

New shoots looking fine. I was wondering in a case like this how long would people wait before trying fertilizer?

I’d be liquid feeding now. Weathers good for Euc’s.
Eat the Red ones Rory..... no bones!
Cheers

I tried a costata in a pot for years.
It's now back in the ground and 10 metres high x 8 metres. :shifty:
