Lovely tree certainly, but i'd also love a bit of info on that pot. It really sets off the tree beautifully

Great grip on the rock the tree displays. How old is that tree?

Just curious as to when you defoliated it as it it's bounced back really well.

Tree was defoliated first week of march. I wouldn't do it normally so late but with such a wet few months here and no frosts yet it had some time to grow again . if I defoliate for ramification its usually late jan .

Must try harder Matthew!
Where are all the crispy and frazzled leaf margins that I have so masterfully been able to acquire on the very few leaves I have on mine?
Nothing says “splendor” more than the colour Brown. ;)

Gee that's a lovely rich colour Matthew. This isn't going to sound right but I like way the drip on the pot echoes the root melting over the rock as time passes. (A few folk on this forum just passed out because trees don't 'melt' but I couldn't think of a better word this early in the morning!) ;)

What is the size of this tree please?

KKAR I can’t manage to burn trident leaves for some reason even in full summer sun 35 degrees plus, but give me a Japanese Maple and 40% shade cloth and I could still burn it to a crisp!

Unfortunately I had to give up on the Japanese Maples Tim. Just too hot here in my backyard.
My last one went to heaven during the summer..It's with the stars now.

Matthew that really is a beauty & the pot is something special too.
