Hi all,

The School of Bonsai annual exhibition is on again.

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 9am top 4pm each day.

Ray Nesci Exhibition Centre, 26 Sagars Road Dural.

* Free admission and parking
* Free advice and styling tops at the clinic (bring your own tree or buy one from Ray's nursery)
* Free tea and coffee
* $4 sausage sizzle with proceeds to Westmead Childrens Hospital
* Raffles with great prizes
* Display by Suiseki Australia

Following is the free demonstration schedule

Saturday
9am to 10am - Exhibition Critique by guest judge Hugh Grant
10:15 to 1pm - Hugh Grent demo
1:30 to 3:30 - Ken Poole and Vince Frizza

Sunday
10am to 11:30 - John Batty
12noon to 1:30 - Evan Marsh
2pm to 3:30 - TBA

This event sounds great - unfortunately I've used up my "bonsai road trip" for this year.
Good luck to all involved for a fantastic weekend.

I haven't had a bonsai road trip since ....... last Sunday so I'll be there. Save a sausage for me Ken!

What a great show !
Lots of people thru the weekend came to visite and appreciate all the trees and demos.

Took photos of most of the trees for thos that could not visit.

congrats to the School show organisers for an excellent weekend and particular thank to Ray Nesci and family who di an amazing job as usual to put on the venue and facilities

Is this one a kunzea? It has a lot going for it, really evocative tree in my opinion ... very nice!

Aww...that's a cute little mulberry tree!

that liquid amber looks quite impressive . Not a common species and one that takes a lot to make it a convincing bonsai

these were the standouts for me:
0016 - very stylish. Was it a Mel. styphelioides? The uneven root line really gives the trunk something dynamic to rise from.

0007 - the funky Bougy semi-cascade.

9993 - the B/B/S felt very coastal, a very strong image.

9977 - a very refined semi-cascade pine.

I think the mel is a claret top. Not sure of its botanical name, but Steven should be able to confirm. I am not sure who owns it and have not seen it before.

That little boogie is mine so thanks, I reckon its cute too
