Hi all

Spring is here and with it a host of club shows....

The CBS show will be held at Canberra High School again this year, on 12 and 13 October.

We're looking forward to a great display again - will be interesting to see which plants respond to the weird weather (hot, cold, freezing, hot, …..) that we've been having. Some deciduous are already in full flower and/or leaf - some are still sleeping!

The sales area will be jam-packed this year with a number of new vendors offering plants, pots and potting materials, complementing the range offered by our regular vendors. It will be a great opportunity to stock up.

One week to go till set-up. One week, one day and one hour till the doors open on the 2019 Show.

Not long now.

Goulburn may have great weather next week end.... The start of the following week temperatures drop back to high teens... Hmmmmmm..... Great for those who are trying to keep flowers on their trees!

Canberra bonsai show next weekend.
As well as the club sales tables, Shibui bonsai has a trade area along with 6 other vendors selling both plants and pots.
A few discerning customers have already put orders in so they'll be sure to get their choice of what's available. If anyone wants something special let me know - the earlier the better so i know what I can fit in.

I'll be there, it looks like I might need my overcoat, but I'll be there anyway.

Yeah, you're going to need some warm clothes... Max of 16 on Saturday and 19 on Sunday... And rain... It would have been nice if it held off till Monday, but, hey, we need it

It will be nice and warm in the hall, and there's good parking close to the hall.

In addition to Shibui, the vendors will be
- Graham Cook - pots (ceramic and other materials) maybe some plants?
- Grant Bowie - Japanese pots, tools and wire
- Marg Fenn - pots
- a new vendor - Samarkand ceramics from Sydeny - pots
- Bonsai World - Ash and the boys are back for another year with plants a pots, and
- Goat Hydroponics - potting media etc - our second new vendor - a local Canberra company.

And the CBS sales tables will no doubt be well stocked !

So there's lots of opportunity to restock and pick up a tree or two afte you've been through the display. 88 trees are curently registered, with 2019 being the year of the maples - 19 of them! There's a good range of other species so everyone will find something they like.

And plenty of activities with bonsai basic sessions, demos and guided tours of the exhibition.

Look forward to seeing eveyone who can get there.

I had a sneak peak of a few trees last night before set up and wow, some spectacular trees to be exhibited.

well as usual great show guys. Sat was very busy so I am told. I hope the native I voted for gets up. Hope you had a great weekend. First time to this venue. Apart on relying on my better half to understand the sat-nav we finally got there. Nice venue.

Canberra bonsai show was a blast. There were great trees and the variety was amazing. Here are a few snaps from the weekend.

This tree won best in show. It was an amazing tree. Unfortunately I couldn't get a better picture of it.

Deadset magnificent group of trees. Must have been some show to see live. Thanks for posting photos. So many great trees and the best is show looks staggering. Wonderful stuff. I think there’s a maple there that Tim might enjoy too. He loves a good Maple.

Great photography Keels . There were some really outstanding trees on display ,the azalea in full flower was breathtaking ,it’s flowering for the show was timed to perfection . Did you get a photo of the Red Pine Literati ,Bunjin ? A very nice tree .
