Just wanted to say a quick thanks to the Waverly Bonsai team for putting on the show last weekend. I managed to get down there on Sunday with Mark (MJL) and was impressed with the setup. I think i'll be joining the club now after speaking to a few members briefly, i really enjoyed the atmosphere. Some stunning trees there, and a few a little bit more my level (beginner) that gave me confidence that i wouldn't be out of my depth, while also giving me something to aspire to.

A couple of quick shots from the day, i was enjoying it so much i didn't pull my phone out for snaps until quite late

My selection for 'People's Choice' favorite tree of this day, this Japanese Red Pine.

Very impressive Radiata clump

The best in show tree, this lovely Japanese White Pine

Big thanks to all involved for putting in the time and effort!

Yep, I second the thanks to the Waverley Bonsai Group and thanks for putting up with me Tim. :)

I do hope there are some other photos of the exhibition too. The pines that Tim posted were wonderful and as is often the way, phone photos don't do the trees justice. I am pretty sure the White Pine was by Scott Martin and it was sensational. As was the Red Pine. Similarly, that mutli-trunk radiata was an amazing tree. I'd love to know the history, it is clearly Yamadori; very old and it was very difficult to see any cut marks; if there were any, they'd healed well.

Cheers,

Mark
