How long has this taken Mike? I have a trident forest that is very young so I better strap in for the long run

I am having a brief lunchtime break and this forest has made my day. Just beautiful. The forest floor is wonderful.

It was put together during a demo about 5 or 6 years ago but I used some older trees from another forest as well as some younger material. I was told that some of the older ones were around 20 years old but they were in extremely poor condition at the time. I basically had to start from scratch.

That is nice!
Great ramification happening and all the trees have a nice balance/harmony that isn't too contrived.
The lighting in the shot with the sun/shadows dappling through to the forest floor also adds a great dimension.
Very cool.

You are right. Good bonsai does take time.
A passable group is possible in just a couple of years but to get something with great form and good ramification takes far longer.
Well done Mike.

Very graceful and harmonious. Deceptively difficult to be this disciplined.
