English oak in Brissie

[Hello everyone,

I have had this tree for about 4 years now, bought at a nursery in Samford. It was deteriorating, root bound and ant infested. It took me 6 months to buy it, and managed to get the price down from $50 to $30.
It was about 1.2m tall, and straight as, of course, but had a great developing base already.
Fast forward 4 years, good feeding and minimal pruning (except for direction), and here it is today.
Although just st the beginning of a very long journey, it is coming along very nicely I feel. The base is about a can's diameter.
All comment and advice welcome as always of course.
Pierre

is it too late to defoliate the top of the tree? it looks like your aiming for about 400mm high by my guess :lost:
