[Natural] Cassinia Arcuata - Pearcy

Thought I'd try a different species for this comp, this is a Cassinia Arcuata. Picked it up for as $3.00 tube stock from memory, from the Newport Native Nursery in Melbourne. I have no idea how this will go in this competition, I have a feeling it will be a slow grower but time will tell. Judging by the species it will need to be grown as a taller, more slender tree.
Cheers,
Pearcy.

Looks good ... I like that bend at the base. Good luck. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Slowly getting some more foliage on this one. I found it often got a bit of die back after the repot. Not sure if it was the root work or summer heat that was causing it. I will now hopefully get some movement into those trunks by the next update. This one grows a nice purple draped flower? Apologies for the night photo, I'm currently on night shift.
Cheers,
Pearcy.

Wow.
I'm loving your willingness to trial new stock. Great looking start with that tree mate.
I will very much look forward to seeing updates on this one. One of my favourites now.

When I started the competition I considered 3 Melaleuca entries for quick growth. Time will tell if this was the right decision haha

Pearcy - no need to be apologising for the night photos - I love the photo showing the new purple growth; the lighting helps more than hinders.
Also, had to laugh at your quote above - mate, my Mels are growing fast but my gums are going coco bananas and the more I snap ‘em the more bananas things get.
These natives things are out of control!
Bonsai teaches me patience.

A bit clearer photo of the flowers progressing in daylight for anyone interested at home.

Tried wiring this one today for a little bit of movement. I was able to get a gentle curve to the thinner right trunk, but the main trunk just would not budge. I almost snapped the main left trunk twice while trying to get just a small amount of movement into it. Have a feeling it may die back to a lower branch after the harsh treatment.. time will tell.
Anyone that wants to try this species in the future - WIRE EARLY!!
As with most my trees, I seem to have subconsciously moved toward a slanting/windswept style of tree. Depending on what develops I may change it up as time goes by.
Cheers,
Pearcy.
