Well done Steven and a great idea Squizzy.
A great thread idea with some fantastic contributions - if only I could have found some more time I would have liked to share as well.

Well I think it’s hard to pick only one but I’ve done it.

My vote was for a tree that breaks many “rules” Which may very well be what makes it captivating. It has got me thinking about future styling of my own trees.

Thanks for everyone who participated

We certainly do have some great native bonsai.
Love the texture and shapes of some of those trunks.

It is certainly hard to pick just one. They all have some great features but each is different, unique which is the way bonsai should be. it makes it hard to judge one against the other though

Thanks to Squizzy for getting this thread started and for everyone who has participated.

Yes, I really enjoyed Boom64's entries too, especially the creative styling of one particular tree.
Keep at it, Boom! I hope you will show us a lot more of your natives in future.

It was hard indeed to choose a "best". There were many really admirable bonsai. Very enjoyable.

For those that haven’t seen. The voting has closed and there was a bolt away winner. Congratulations goes to the master from the West. Pup. There is no doubt that melaleuca composition is amazing and screens Australia to me and obviously many others.

Boom 64 has to get special mention also. His trees have been shown a lot of interest.

Well done everyone. Let’s see if we can get this off the ground eith a bit more notice next year.

Cheers
