Anyone have any idea why my Elm doesn't seem to be growing?
The buds kinda opened mid winter but never got any further.
All my other elms are growing fast.

Hey Ben,

What is the substrate you have it in? Doesn't look like like there's much airation? Although hard to tell because you just watered it. Could be wet feet (root rot) slowing it down.

When did you last repot and how hard did you cut the roots? Could just be it used the stored energy to push the initial buds and it's redirected its energy to new roots.

You need to share some more information to get the right advise mate.

Has it changed climate/micro climate recently?
Do you fertilise, how often/type?
When was it last fertilised?
When was it last repotted?
How hard were the roots cut? (Photos?)
What substrate is it in?
Observed any pests?
How often do you water?
Do you let it dry at all between watering?
What position is it in?
If it wasn't repotted recently have you looked at the roots?
Etc, etc, etc.

Goodluck mate.

Cheers,
Pearcy.

possibly dried out and the feeder roots died back-I would ground grow for a season or two
