Ken and JayC found one of Ray's hidden gems... a yamadori Melaleuca that is just screaming out for some of Pup's techniques!

Not a bad looking stick :P . I think it is Quinquinervia the foliage will reduce with partial defoliation.
Leave a couple of leaves so the sap has a reason to go there. Who bought it what was the price like? Pup

TLOL Steven took the photo :-) Must be camera shy :-)
The stock is from Rays advanced / large stock area. He has just about all common trees we use as advanced stock and the prices are very good.

Well worth a visit if you are ever here.

G/Day! folks,
This is my first post. I could not resist joining after reading of the fun at The School of Bonsai (the acronym is TSOB) xmas party. 8-)
One of the great things to come out of the day was the announcement that Peter Adams has accepted TSOB's invitation to visit us as Guest Speaker in July next year. :D So start saving up for a great weekend of Bonsai and mateship.
Peter will be conducting a workshop, something I won't be missing. How about you? Now comes the agony of sourcing a suitable tree which will befit the occasion, then the suitable pot. What a great opportunity to add a "Styled by Peter Adams" tree to your collection.
Is there any one out there with a "Styled by Peter Adams" tree ?
We know how long ago he last visited, so, does he style for longevity?

I'm really impressed with you guys contributing to the first 100.

Keep the chat going!

Regards

Sshhh Don't Tell everyone :-) We might get booked out before we get a chance to sign up.

Antonio and all,
The weekend is what the School used to call the "Ideas Summit" and is held in July. Up till last year has been held annually and Charles Ceronio was our Guest last year.
The Weekend will now be held Bi annually and will endeavour to have an Accomplished Bonsai artist attend every year as a headline, so keep a lookout.
Saturday and sunday has been demos / discussions / Workshops at the Venue, and the monday is an allday workshop at Ray Nesci Nursery.
As yet I have not been able to attend as I usually am committed elsewhaer in July, but Next year I will be a definite :-)

Ken

PS Welcome tmaster

Dunno Yet if the name will change or stay. Up to Clinton and the committee I guess

Never fear all, I will certainly let everyone know when it is on as I hope it will be a big drawcard for the East coast Bonsai folk

Hey guys!

What an AWESOME day we had! Clinton and Ray (and the rest of their family) sure know how to create a Chrissy lunch!

It was really good to meet somebody after talking to them for years online. Ken was nothing like i expected him to be (better), and a really nice guy!

And meeting Steven, the owner of this site was amazing too! I wasnt expecting to see Steven, and it was really good to talk to him. Thanks for taking photos!

Tmaster, thanks for joining this site! Any talk of "the other teacher" from our night joining? I would like to have him here...

Pup, neither of us bought the tree :( Im spending my money on an irrigation system at the moment.

Really nice to meet you guys!

JayC
