Trident help

I've recently moved a trident I'm working on to a different place and onto a wooden shelf.

I've noticed that since moving there are roots growing out the bottom - like they are chasing the moisture from the wood.

Do I cut the roots (it's not root bound).

Don't stress.

The roots will typically dry and die or keep growing depending on moisture availability.
Don't bother cutting though - they will generally prune themselves purely based on lack of moisture and exposure to light.

You can leave those roots or cut them. It does not seem to matter either way. All the tridents I have had on gravel trays over summer have roots out the bottom of the pots and into the gravel underneath. I have cut most of them a few weeks ago so I can move the trees a bit.
