Get that new leader going to a thickness then cut to a new low bud for direction .Elms in general and corkbarks make excellent bonsai . Quick growing , most forgiving , can be cut to a stump with multiple reshooting on old wood . naturally small leafs on most species and ramify easy, airlayer easy, propagate easy.Did I miss something out? yes I like them :D
