Here are my Elm and Maple. I bought these both as stock from Steve at Australian Bosnai Grower in the first week of August, and put them into the large pots 2 weeks later. they haven't stopped growing!! ^_^

thats it mate, keep them healthy and going strong and you will have something nice in the next couple of years. being starters you have control of what gets cut off. what gets left. it makes it easier for you, and you wont get as large scars. although some larger scars are unavoidable, you can minimise them

I'm gonna give them some trimming next weekend. I'll leave a couple of branches low for sacrifices though. these two just keep growing =P

i wouldnt stress to much about trimming mate. i know it gets boring when ya cant get into stuff but if you just let them go for a couple of seasons you might be better off.
keep feeding them up and go get ya self something that you can work on and get some more instant results, tess has heaps of good quality stuff there mate. dont be afraid to spend a bit more on more advanced stock, you will be better of in the long run, less waiting

Yeah, true that man. I'm thinking a more advanced juniper should be on the cards. I'll be at Tess's again in 2 weeks, so might have to have a good look!
I wasn't gonna do too much to these, just keep branch lengths manageable haha

other than that, let it grow like crazy

That's pretty much the plan dude! I'd put them in the ground if I had space!!
