Poinciana from seed

Hi,
I've been trying to grow some Poincianas to bonsai from seed without much success. Of the 30 or so seeds I've planted so far I have had only two sprout, and one of those has died. I collected the seeds under a large mature poinciana. They were sandpapered carefully on one end, (not the sprouting end) , soaked in hot water and left to soak overnight. The next day they were placed on seed propagating mix and then kept damp with only morning sun on them. I have collected more seeds, but want to ask if anyone has suggestions that may get me a higher success rate of germination?
