Is it still OK to do an airlayer on a maple, or should I wait until next Spring?
Hi Ken i also have one going on a J maple. I took a look at it and it's swollen nicely, roots are trying to come out, used a hyco seedling pot with peat moss, hormone, am thinking of changing peat to spag balled in plastic wrapped in foil the size of an orange, stem size approx 2cm, your thoughts...ps sorry for hijackingkcpoole wrote:Depends on where you are, what type of maple and size
if very large maybe not.
In Sydney on tridents yes should be fine to do and any small roots will not be hurt in our mild winter
Japanese if they are small I will try now
