Hi all,

this is a nursery bought Bottlebrush with a pink flower, I bought many years ago that I am hoping to create something with in time.

Any thoughts and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

Great progression, thanks for showing it. Interesting to see a relatively small tree in such good flower so what ever you are doing it likes it.

Cheers Watto, I can't say I am doing anything special apart from water and feed it haha but the flowers this year on it meant the world to me.

Thank you Pup, I am humbled by your comment and it means the world. I hope to do it justice, I have read your thread on Callistemon pruning and will continue to read it as it is a wealth of information so thank you mate. Without that, I would be lost.

I will update again in a few months.

Cheers

David

Hi all,

Thanks Fruitfly and Rory for the kind words.

A quick update on this one. It has grown well since being repot and I will now stop trimming until after flowering.

I will update it again when it is flowering.

That's some very nice ramification on quite a small bottlebrush. I can see a bit of time and effort spent on this one David - nice work!

Did you keep it well moist through the Sydney summer? Gravel tray or submerged in a saucer? It certainly looks like it is loving life!

Hi all,

Thank you Steve and JPB for your comments, they mean a lot and I appreciate them.

Steve, I keep this sitting in a water tray all year round and it hasn't looked back. In summer, like many of my smaller natives, I have them sitting in water trays and I will water in the morning, on hot days by midday i will fill up the tray again, then by 5-6pm will fill it up again and by morning it will be dry as a bone, if it hasn't rained overnight. I CANNOT FATHOM on how much our natives can suck up water, when its available to them)

I didn't get any flowers this season but plenty of good growth. I had the camera out today and took an update

Happy that is it healthy and progressing but its a long way off yet.
