G'day guy's and girls
just a quick question?
there are still hundreds of seeds on my large Trident Maple tree at home would they be alright to plant now or has the time passed?
it got down to -3 deg a few times this yeah, wich is fairly mild on average about 1 degree through the winter nights, if that helps.
I also dissected a seed and it still looks like it has moisture in it.

Yes Scott. Go for it. Seed on a maple should still be viable and I don't think fresh seed needs to be further stratified. Just plant some and it should start to germinate soon.
Better still, look around near the tree. You should be able to find seedlings starting to pop up right now. Just pull them up and plant them in pots. Does not matter if the root breaks off - they will still grow and usually have a better root system if the long root is cut short when transplanting.
