Nandina domestica 1.JPG
I entered this Nandina in the previous shohin comp but what with one thing and another, I let it slip.
The original root cutting was languishing in the 'forgotten' pile for two years until the amount of growth it was putting on meant it couldn't be ignored any longer.
It is now in it's first 'proper' pot and just slipping into the shohin height restrictions.

Nice one Pat.
Don't often see these as Bonsai of late.
Knowing how they grow I wouldn't have the foggiest on how to achieve "Bonsai" with this species!

Nice one Pat,now that is what Bonsai is about, the simplicity of the lines with the vision and imagination to paint a very smart...look at me picture.

Nice work Pat, I have played with Nandina on and off over my time.
Cannot remember what happened to my last one
They have a great little root / stump and can be cut back to nothing every year to keep under control,
