POTTERS....A call to arms

This is a spin-off from Rory's, Pot Voting Comp.
I hope to organize a Bonsai Pot Exhibition (no judging, no voting, no prizes), at the March 2017, NBPCA Bonsai Week. I've contacted Leigh Tafe, and he and his committee are very much in favour, so now it's up to the potters.
I've put together a list of all the potters I can think of, but I'm sure there are more. I'm particularly interested in any potters from the west. So, if you know of someone who makes pots commercially, and is not on the list, please add them.
I would like to send an individual letter inviting potters to participate so I need addresses ...so potters, please PM me with particulars or, preferably, give me a call on 0400216563.I would love to hear from you. The letter sets out the FIRST DRAFT of how I imagine this will work...(and I'm sure it will require some tuning), so hopefully you will at least let me send this before making up your mind whether you want to participate or not.
Leigh also needs to have an input.
Here's my list...
Melissa Beowulf, Margaret Fenn, JoAnn m, Graham Cook, Penny Davis, Roger Hnatiuk, Boris Lomov, Marie Hewartson, Viv ?, PK, Dave Taylor, Janet Selby,
Happy Potter ?, Lynette Smith, Loraine Simpson, Trevor Wheeler, Fergus Stewart, Val Garth, Jason Beazley,
I'm sure there are more and I'll probably wake at 4AM very embarrassed at leaving some friend off...
So potters, get your thinking caps on and start imagining THAT pot you want to be known for....
Happy potting and warm regards,
Pat

It's a great idea. Should it extend to include stand makers or would that be left to a seperate exhibition. I have seen a few good ones in here.

Hi Pat.
I can't wait to see the show.
But I think you've developed the mad potters' syndrome, which is obviously exposure from the toxic chemicals, which also afflicted the mad hatters.

You forgot Tracey.
Her pots look beautiful. I am yet to receive some, but when I do I will be sure to post some photos.

What a great idea Pat,will certainly look forward to that, the cream will come to the top,
Looks like a trip to Canberra will be required . Make sure the Politicians are out of town.
Hey mods, how do the tools work, there seems to be a inconsistency, I have 4 tools with 235 posts and Pat has 3 tools with 279 posts, and he needs the tools more than me to make his superb pots,

Hi Pat,
Luke Parsons here,
I have long admired your bonsai pottery.
Well done to you for organising an exhibit of the finest bonsai pottery that Australia has to offer.
I have been making the occasional pot for myself for some years, but in the last 12 months have made a concerted effort to develop a range of bonsai pottery to supply bonsai enthusiasts in Australia.
I have recently started supplying members of the South Australian Bonsai Society with bonsai pots, which I suppose officially makes me a commercial bonsai potter.
I have attached (hopefully) a sample photo of some of the bonsai pots I produce.
All pots are made by hand, no moulds are used.
I particularly enjoy making drum pots, glazed oval forms, and abstracted forms.
I can be contacted on 0488 244 318 or

Cheers,
Luke

Luke...thanks for making contact. Please PM me with your postal address or call me anytime

Hello Pat,
For many months I have been very interested in obtaining some bonsai pots from our Australian Potters.
However, locating Aussie Bonsai Potters and surfing their pots is not an easy procedure, even now within this www revolution. For example, the only links i can locate for you is patspots or mudlarkpottery and both times when entered into the search engine i get identical sites from the USA.
Maybe your list of Aussie Bonsai potters can be forwarded to a Moderator so the AusBonsai Directory can be updated.
Having a list of Aussie Bonsai Potters with their associated websites in one place would be a tremendous advantage to both Potters and Customers.
I do know there is a plethora of Bonsai potters out there, but locating their Internet sites or even their contact details has been extremely frustrating for me.
Then again i am 'a cranky old man' as my family call me and maybe not computer literate enough.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin , Graham here , Bonsai potter from Bombala in the far south of the tablelands . I thought I was traceable through the directory , but just tried it and when you click on the arrow thingy , half the ( inadequate ) information disappears . No phone number , nor website and yet I think I would have included those things . Certainly seems a case for a moderator to look into .
As to websites ,mother are very difficult to maintain and frankly not designed for items that are constantly changing like pots and trees ( no two are the same ).
If you would like my details PM me . I don't like to promote on the site itself , l don't think that is what it is for .
Cheers
Graham

Thanks Graham,
I have been able to previously obtain your website and it's quite a good site. I do appreciate your comments on "constant change".
As mentioned the directory only lists 2 Bonsai Potters in Australia, with yours the only one in NSW.
BTW - Your information via the directory is thorough, obviously why i have previously saved your website. I actually just now made a comment, when beginning to write i thought i was sending you a direct email.
Kevin
P.S. My Father won the Bombala Gift way back in.... I have his trophy in the cupboard somewhere. Do they still have this event - 110 yard sprint? It's seems a beautiful part of Australia and have been wanting to visit for many years, maybe soon.

Great idea pat, i don't know any potters over here personally, but will mention it at our committee meeting to see if anyone knows of any
Also if any of you guys want to be added to the directory, please submit a listing through the site or drop me a pm and I'll be happy go add you on
@graham - if i get a chance tonight then I'll look into this for you. The site is primarily user generated now, and we just update when we are notified of a change. So feel free to submit and update or drop me a line and I'll have a look

i did check it when i first created the listing, but will have another look for you to see what the issue is

Pup's der "MAN" I think from memory his missus even collects pots.
Yes Pat, you definitely need some branch cutters, just imagine all the effects you could do on your pots then,no one else would be in the same class.
