Hi all. I live in Melbourne. Is now the right time to collect trident seeds?

The trident seeds on my tree just out the back door look like this.



I'll be letting mine harden off for a little while yet.

I collect seeds around April. There not ripe at this time of year.

Yep, probably not ripe enough yet. I usually wait until the leaves start to fall but they should be ready when the seeds turn brown. The seeds stay on the tree for ages after the leaves are gone so you won't miss out and you will know that the seeds are properly ripe.
