Hi guys, does anyone know what the Thunb. means?

Example below:

Ehretia rigida (Thunb.) Druce - Deurmekaarbos (Southeastern Africa)

I see it a lot and have no idea what it means

See the little note in this section of the Wikipedia article on Carl Peter Thunberg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Peter ... _to_Sweden
The standard author abbreviation Thunb. is used to indicate this individual as the author when citing a botanical name.[1]
