Pruning prior to re potting

I will be doing some re potting soon so I did some pruning today. I was surprised what I found under there. So here are some pics.

It was collected in 2005 so I do not know, but would say probably about 35 years .

Firstly, your Mel's... :worship:

Quick question if I can. You titled the thread "Pruning prior to repotting". Just wondering if this is necessary / advised to be done a certain time period before the repot as all you said was soon?
